THE VOID

THE VOID FAQ

The Void turns community donations into onchain NFT destruction. Use the steps below to donate, propose, and vote on the next target collection.
WHAT IS THE VOID?
The Void is an NFT burning protocol on Base. Donations fund the purchase of NFTs, which are then permanently burned. This removes supply and turns donations into onchain destruction.
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Connect your wallet, make a donation, and head to the Voting page. You can then vote on the next collection target or submit a proposal if you own a whitelisted NFT.
HOW DO I DONATE?
On the Voting page, enter an amount in ETH and click Donate. Confirm the transaction in your wallet to record your donation onchain.
WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?
95.8% of each donation is reserved for NFT purchases and burns. 4.2% funds operational costs. All accounting is tracked onchain.
HOW DOES VOTING WORK?
Each epoch, users vote on which collection to target next. Donation tiers grant voting power. Whitelisted NFT holders can submit proposals that appear in the voting list.
HOW DO I VOTE?
Enter a target collection address or OpenSea slug, then click Vote With Donation. Your available voting power comes from your donation tier for the current epoch.
WHAT IS THE FULL FLOW OF THE VOID?
Donations are received onchain, the community votes on a target collection each epoch, and the protocol purchases NFTs from the winning collection. Those NFTs are then permanently burned to remove supply.
HOW DO PROPOSALS WORK?
To submit a proposal you must own a token from a whitelisted collection. Enter the target collection (address or slug), select your whitelisted collection and token ID, then submit.
WHAT INPUTS ARE ACCEPTED FOR TARGET COLLECTIONS?
You can enter either a Base contract address (0x...) or an OpenSea collection slug. The app validates the input and resolves it to a collection name before submitting.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BURN AN NFT?
Burning permanently removes a token from circulation by sending it to a burn address. Once burned, it cannot be transferred or sold again.
WHAT IS LISTING AND RESCUE?
The Void wallet may list owned NFTs for sale. Rescue refers to selling an owned NFT instead of burning it (for example, to recover funds if needed). Listings are automated by the service, and rescue can be triggered by anyone.
CAN I TRIGGER LISTINGS OR RESCUES FROM THE APP?
Listings are handled automatically by the service, and rescues are permissionless. Users can also donate, vote, and submit proposals from the app.
WHICH WALLETS AND NETWORKS ARE SUPPORTED?
The app runs on Base mainnet (chain ID 8453). Wallet connections are handled via Coinbase OnchainKit and WalletConnect.
HOW CAN I VERIFY THE PROTOCOL STATS?
All core metrics are read directly from the contract. You can inspect the contract address and activity on BaseScan for full transparency.
WHY CAN'T I SUBMIT OR VOTE?
Make sure your wallet is connected, you have voting power for the current epoch, and your proposal token is owned by your wallet. If the transaction fails, the app will show a confirmation or error message.
